Case Managers

Sophie Benko-Jones
Director and Case Manager
Sophie is the Director of Beacon Case Management Ltd and has been a Case Manager since 2010. She is a qualified Occupational Therapist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council, and in 2016 she qualified as an Advanced Case Manager with BABICM.
Specialising in catastrophic injury cases, such as acquired brain injury, minimally conscious states, cerebral palsy, orthopaedic injury and amputee, Sophie works with both children and adults. She also has a wealth of experience working with teenagers who are transitioning into adulthood.
Sophie is skilled in managing the client’s journey from pre to post litigation and helping her client and their family throughout by building trusting and professional relationships whilst maintaining professional boundaries.

Melanie Jones
Associate Case Manager
Melanie is an experienced Case Manager who is based in North Wales and covers the North West. Melanie qualified in 2006 and spent ten years working across Social Services as an Occupational Therapist. She began working as a Case Manager in 2016 and has managed complex pre and post litigation cases for clients with serious injuries. She is also a Welsh speaker.
Melanie is confident in assessing and providing intervention for community-based clients with long-term, complex disabilities. She is particularly adept at assessing their immediate and long term needs, making appropriate provision with a view to promoting independence and wellbeing.
Melanie is very skilled at making recommendations regarding major essential adaptations and designing and specifying specialist adaptations/equipment required for safety and independence. She also has specialist knowledge of building regulations which must be considered in the designing of facilities for disabled individuals.

Elaine O’Flaherty
Associate Case Manager
Elaine qualified as a Physiotherapist in 2008 from the University of Salford. She has gained significant experience in the NHS and private practice in the holistic management of complex client cases with catastrophic injuries both physical and cognitive and those with long term Neurological conditions. Also, developing and managing the service in a variety of complex ABI and Neuro rehabilitation units in the North West.
Elaine started working as an Associate Case Manager in 2017 and has gained experience supporting clients throughout the litigation process and post settlement, clients funded by the Help for Heroes charity and an International publicly fund-raised Rehabilitation Trust in addition to managing complex and catastrophic traumatic orthopaedic and brain injury rehabilitation.

Rachel Gannon
Associate Case Manager
A highly experienced and skilled case manager, Rachel specialises in the case management of adults following catastrophic injuries including brain injuries, spinal injuries, polytrauma, amputations and peripheral nerve injuries. Rachel is also an experienced medico-legal expert for care, case management and occupational therapy.
Rachel is an occupational therapist working as a case manager, with over 16 years’ experience in the delivery of rehabilitation. She is passionate about the provision of cost-effective and collaborative rehabilitation, to restore an individual’s function and quality of life.
Her clinical area of expertise is the case management of clients who have sustained complex and life changing injuries, including brain injuries, spinal injuries, complex orthopaedic injuries and amputations.

Christy Simpson
Case Manager and Clinical Compliance Manager
Christy graduated from the University of Salford in 2013, with a BSc First Class in Nursing and Social Work. Christy has significant experience as a Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse within the health care sector in a variety of different settings, including secure hospitals, community healthcare, and education services. In these roles Christy has supported individuals with learning disabilities, mental health issues, brain injury and autism spectrum conditions.
Christy’s areas of expertise include; the assessment of behavioural functions in order to inform and improve quality of life for individuals, clinical management of complex physical and mental health illnesses and leading support staff and health care professionals to achieve high standards of person-centred care.
Christy’s passion is working directly with clients and their support team, building therapeutic and positive working relationships. Alongside this Christy also consults on clinical compliancy needs in relation to Care Quality Commission standard, ensuring services meet the highest standards.

Alex Murphy
Associate Case Manager
Alex qualified as an occupational therapist in 2015 after spending two years working as a support worker and team leader for case management companies Neuro Partners and A Chance for Life. Alex had the opportunity to work with children and adults who had sustained spinal cord injuries and acquired brain injuries.
Alex is a highly organised, proactive and experienced occupational therapist who is skilled in managing clients journeys and passionate about improving quality of life for those who have sustained catastrophic injuries. Alex is an experienced leader who is confident in setting up care teams and providing recommendations for clients with complex needs to live as independent and fulfilling lives as possible.
Through her professional and charitable work, Alex’s focus is always on maximising outcomes for those who face some form of disadvantage through disability.

Lynne Powell
Associate Case Manager
Lynne is a Registered Nurse working as a Case Manager. Lynne completed her nursing qualification in 2009 at Keele University, achieving a first in her bachelor’s degree.
In addition to her professional credentials, Lynne has personal experience of the long-term impact and life changing nature of traumatic brain injury.
Lynne has over 10 years’ experience working in the NHS in a variety of settings, which includes Critical Care, multiple Injuries, Rehabilitation, and Neuro Surgery. Lynne also worked as a Complex Care Case Manager and a Commissioning Nurse in NHS Continuing Healthcare for a number of years before leaving the NHS in 2019 to work as a Case Manager.
Lynne takes pride in her professionalism and has a keen eye for detail. She quickly builds trusting rapports with her clients and their families.
Business Support

Rachel Wilkinson
Team Administrator
Rachel joins Beacon Case Management Ltd with a wealth of experience as an NVQ assessor for health and social care, and many years working in the childcare industry.
Rachel is skilled in educating staff and reviewing staff training needs. She has extensive experience in observing and appraising staff skills. Rachel has excellent experience working alongside SENCOs in preparing assessment framework forms for children with special educational needs.
Rachel has worked alongside Sophie since 2018 and has enjoyed getting to know clients and their families. She is keen to expand her knowledge in the Case Management industry. Rachel has completed training in GDPR, home and remote-worker data security, complaint handling (level 1) and effective home working and well-being.

Sally Gregson
Compliance Manager
Sally joins Beacon Case Management with over ten years management experience including management roles within the NHS as an Office Manager and Deputy Practice Manager. She has an ILM Level 4 qualification in Leadership and Management.
Sally assists our case managers in managing all aspects of the day-to-day management of support packages including overseeing rotas, inductions, training and supervising, developing policies and protocols, auditing and working closely with clinical staff to ensure the efficient, effective running of the service. She supports the business in achieving excellent standards and targets in line with The Health and Social Care Act and regulations linking in with the Care Quality Commission.
Sally is absolutely committed to providing the best possible care for our clients and offers valuable insight and critical assessment of situations. She develops excellent working relationships with colleagues, clients and their families to ensure a focus on safe, effective, compassionate and high-quality care for all.
